La bourse et la vie : le porte-carte / Your money and your life: sew your card-holder

Il y a pléthore de tutos sur le net pour des porte-cartes en tissu.

There are many tutorials on the web for sewing card holders. Most of them are very well made and I tested a few.

La plupart sont trės bien faits et j'en ai testé quelques-uns :

1. Trės facile et rapide, bien faire attention d'avoir une distance constante entre les deux poches (voir la bande centrale en tissu rose à pois blancs) : http://craftycupboard.net/2011/03/how-to-business-card-holder/

Petit inconvénient : la fermeture par élastique et bouton, trės décorative, est un peu contraignante à l'usage (un peu lente et faire attention à ne rien arracher). Peut-être que mes boutons fleurs, aussi jolis soient-ils, n'aident pas à cause de leur forme tarabiscotée...

The link above is a very easy and quick tuto. Just make sure that the middle part (in my case, the pink fabric with white polka dots) is not skewed. I find just one drawback: the elastic closure looks very nice, but is a bit tedious when used several times a day. You have to go easy and slowly not to tear anything down. OK, maybe it's the fault of my flower-shaped buttons: they are so cute but their shape doesn't help!

Le mien : j'adore ce tissu "timbres" et sa couleur...

Je me suis un peu plantée sur les mesures pour la partie rabat, mais il est trės bien, parfaitement fonctionnel et joli.
PS : oui, j'ai la carte Mondial Tissus, vu les mètres de tissus que je prends chez eux :-)

The second one is very practical with its fold-over flap. For my version, I'm in love with this "stamps" fabric and its gorgeous fuschia color (love the matching color of the batik also!).
I messed up the measurements for the fold-over flap but it still works perfectly well.
PS: you'll notice the Mondial Tissus fidelity card... it's where I bought most of my fabric stash.

OK, j'ai oublié de coudre la ligne qui délimite le rabat du corps du porte-cartes. Résultat : une poche à fond perdu... ou une poche secrète si on veut être positif ;-)
OK I messed up again, I forgot to sew the line that splits the flap and the main body of the card holder. Hence he may lose some coins in this deep secret pocket :-)

And as a small gift (because it's so quick and easy), this card-holder with key ring has a strong wow effect. This one is so cute and so cleverly sewn: check the last sewing line, it's so clever!!
I've sewn one for myself and I always have it in my pocket or in my bag. It is perfectly fitted to hold all my must-have cards... I love its perfect (i.e. smallest) size :-)
