Jour 18 : inspiration Aborigènes Australiens / Day 18: inspiration from Australian Aboriginal art

Une inspiration tout droit venue des antipodes avec les Aborigènes Australiens et leurs totems animaux : la fourmi à miel, le kangourou, le crocodile, la tortue, le serpent, le poisson.
La culture aborigène, dont les origines remontent à quelques 60 000 ans, est une des plus anciennes de la planète. Leur mythologie et leur Temps du Rêve sont fascinants.

Une exposition à la médiathèque d'Antibes leur rendait hommage récemment. Et je viens de découvrir en ligne un magnifique catalogue d'une exposition plus ancienne.

This time my inspiration came from a half world away, from the Australian Aboriginal art.
Aboriginal culture, which goes back some 60,000 years, is the oldest living culture on this planet.
 I find their mythology extremely rich and intricate and their "Dreamtime" truly fascinating.

A few months ago an exhibition in Antibes media library was dedicated to Aboriginal art.
I just stumbled upon the catalog of a former exhibition, which also contains an English (and Italian) translation.
